Oil marketers sell Kerosene high above approved price

National Household Kerosene Price Watch for September 2016 prepared by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has shown that oil marketers have refused to sell at approved price by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)Image result for nnpc
NBS report released on Friday, October 14 showed that the average price of kerosene across the country was N288.68 per litre, a N138.68 difference from the approved N150 per litre price. The commodity was even sold for higher price of around N300 per litre in Abia, Bayelsa, Enugu, Imo, Kano, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ogun and Rivers states during the period under review. Meanwhile, Leadership has quoted President Muhammadu Buhari claiming during an interactive session in Berlin with representatives of the Nigerian Community in Germany that one-third of the activities of the oil marketers are fraudulent. “One third of the activities of the oil marketers are fraudulent, you can see how some of us Nigerians are wicked. “They just take the money, stamp some papers without bringing the product and this fraudulent activity was between bankers and businessmen,’’ he said.
